Launceston based brewery, Firebrand Brewing Co brings platinum selling indie rock band The Pigeon Detectives to the Go Beyond Sessions on Saturday 30th July 2022. Proudly hosting the Leeds five-piece at the Launceston-based taproom, The Pigeon Detectives will be joined by Cornish band, The Ultra Violets, for an evening of live music, smoked meats, vegan specialities, and beer. Tickets are currently on sale priced at £22.50 (plus booking fee) and are available to purchase from the brewery itself or online.
Taking place in the large car park outside the brewery, The Pigeon Detectives are heading south for their first appearance in Cornwall since 2012. Most well known for singles “Take Her Back,” “I Found Out” and “Romantic Type,” the band toured with Kaiser Chiefs on the UK and European tour. Coming together in 2006, The Pigeon Detectives have released four studio albums with 11 singles charting in the top 40 of the UK Singles Chart.
Hailing from the Cornish shores is support act, The Ultra Violets, who recently opened for McFly at the Eden Sessions to a 6,000-deep crowd. Brimming with energy, the local five-piece are set to kick off the second event of the Go Beyond Sessions this summer.
To go with the music, Firebrand will have a full bar serving Helles Beach Cornish Lager, Patchwork Rocket Pale Ale, Lanson Best Bitter, Thundercloud New England Pale Ale, Pink Lemonade Sour and Shorebreak Alcohol-Free Hazy Pale in addition to cider, wine and spirits. The brewery will also be firing up their on-site smokehouse serving smoked brisket, pulled pork with various veggie and vegan options.
When asked about Go Beyond Sessions, Owner and Head Brewer Joe Thomson said, “The last show was epic, so we’re excited to get this one going! It was awesome to see so many people from the community come out and support the music. It’s great for Launceston to have a big band like The Pigeon Detectives come and play.”
Originally located out of a converted milking parlour on the edge of the wilds of Bodmin Moor, the brewery moved to a large industrial unit in Launceston in 2021. The space features new equipment, a beer shop and taproom designed for gathering together with friends to eat, drink and be social - Friday and Saturday evenings are the hub of activity at Firebrand Brewing Co.
Following a philosophy of using the best, all-natural ingredients from around the world, including Cornish spring water and American hops, Firebrand aims to create the best beers possible.
