Dave takes on 24-hour table tennis marathon for Cornwall Air Ambulance

Have you ever played table tennis and fancy picking up your bat again? Well, now is your chance as Egloskerry man Dave Thorpe is set to take on a 24-hour table tennis match this June and encourages people to pop along and help him raise money for Cornwall Air Ambulance.

Dave will be at the Methodist Chapel in Pipers Pool from 6pm on Friday, 16th June until 6pm on Saturday, 17th June, ready to challenge people of all ages and abilities to take him on during his 24-hour event. There will be two tables and bats available, or if you don’t want to play, simply come along for a cup of coffee and offer a few cheers of support!

Dave is part of the local table tennis group that meets each Wednesday morning at Pipers Pool, and he came up with the idea to play for a charity that is close to many people’s hearts here in Cornwall.

He said: “The event is open to anyone who wants to come along - I will need opponents! We want to get lots of people there. As well as raising money, it will also be a social event. Anyone of any standard is welcome to take part.”

Representatives from Cornwall Air Ambulance will be there on the day, and coffee, cake and a raffle will also be held during the match, with prizes donated by local businesses.

Join Dave and his team of helpers on 16th June at the Methodist Chapel, Pipers Pool, for a great cause!
